Welcome to Kingfisher Medical Practice

  Get help online with askmyGP

Kingfisher Medical PracticeThe fastest way to get help from our doctors is to click askmyGP above.  You can enter any problem or question and in working hours we can usually respond within the hour.

Our aim is to provide comprehensive health care. This means that we concern ourselves as much with improving and maintaining your health as with treating your illnesses.

We have a team of very experienced nurses, who can help you with many common health problems. We have specialist nurse-led services for family planning and the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes, and we offer a wide variety of other medical services including pregnancy care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Changes to our Appointment system from the

9th October 2017

Patients have told us that it was difficult to get an appointment, so we are introducing a new system. Our receptionist will ask how they can help. If it is a medical problem one of the doctors will telephone you first. You may call anytime we are open, and the doctor usually calls back within two hours. If you wish to speak to a particular doctor we will try to arrange this if the doctor is working that day.

The receptionist will ask for a few words about the problem which helps the doctor prepare for the call. You do not have to say but it will help us to serve you. Please make sure you are available and we have the correct phone number, landline or mobile. If it is difficult to take a call at work, you may ask for a specific time which we will try to honour.

The doctor will discuss the problem with you and jointly work out what needs to be done. If you need to be seen, we will always offer an appointment the same day. This means that you don’t need to ring up in advance, and though you will be given a choice, 9 out of 10 patients choose to come the same day.

By avoiding the peak time early morning or using our online service you may get a quicker response. Please wait until after 10.30 for any routine requests such as repeat prescriptions. For further details see our website and patient leaflet which you can pick up at the surgery. We hope all patients will benefit from a faster and easier service.
